St. Stephen's belongs to the Church of England, and we want to share our experience of a God who both comforts and challenges his people. We believe in a loving creator God, that Jesus of Nazareth was God in human form, and that the Holy Spirit of God is active in the world today. We aim to worship in a way that is free and informal, and yet serious and relevant, using modern translations of the Bible and a mixture of traditional and newer songs.
Our services include Holy Communion, at 10 a.m. on Sundays and Wednesdays. Our Cafe Church on the first Sunday in a month is allways popular. We also run from time to time educational groups, where we help one another to understand the Bible and apply it to our lives. YOU are welcome, whatever your background and whatever is happening in your life at the moment.
We are committed to Safeguarding Children, Young People, Victims/perpetrators of Domestic Abuse and Vulnerable Adults.
The PCC has adopted the Church of England's policies and best practice on safeguarding which may be found on the Church of England's website which includes contact details for Safeguarding organisations and charities.

St Peter's is a friendly church with members from Ugley and the surrounding district. We welcome fellow Christians and also those who want to find out more about the Lord Jesus Christ. We base our faith on what we find in the Bible, and faithful preaching of God's word is central to our church meetings.
St Peter's is part of the benefice of Henham and Elsenham with Ugley, and shares the clergy of the benefice and the preachers' group, while maintaining its long tradition of lay leadership in many services.
We hold a service every Sunday and our normal time is 10 am. On most Sundays we have Morning Service, a simple service suitable for young and old. On the first Sunday in the month we have Holy Communion from the Book of Common Prayer.
We run Junior Church during the service time in school terms, so that our children can learn together about the Lord Jesus while we have our own sermon.
We like our church music to be fairly traditional, and have organ accompaniment for our hymns.
We are always seeking to reach out to our community with the news about Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.
